I think I have a problem. I got some new cables for my pedalboard, and I've been putting everything together. When I tried everything all set up, I was hardly getting any volume, and there was a good bit of noise. So, I started from the beginning. I ran my tele and my strat into the amp with nothing between. It seems as though I am only getting half the volume as I was before, and there's this slight static noise coming from my amp, and that noise enhances when I touch the amp. I don't mean barely put my finger on it. I put my hand on the amp when I stood up and it got louder. It's similar to a record at its end.
I tried two different guitars, and all the cables that I have, and it's the same thing. I tried different outlets in my house, and I turned everything else in the house off. All of the tubes are in place and intact. Anybody have any idea what it is?
Thanks. Nick

If it's a reverb amp be sure the cables are making a good connection. If not that it's time for some tube swapping as a start. From there, I don't know.

I found the volume issue. I'm using a Danelectro Cool Cat chorus, and the input jack on it wasn't letting the cable go in all the way. The other part of that is the Planet Waves Solderless cable I had was sucking a little bit too. It's still noisy, but all the sound is there.
I do have a reverb model. I'll check that connection tomorrow. Any suggestions on that are more than welcome, as I'm not very savy on this sort of thing. Thank goodness my gig tonight is acoustic.

Sounds like a cable problem to me. Maybe the Planet Waves is a dud? I'd try plugging straight in with another cord and seeing if it's the amp or the cord. Hang tight, finding the porblem is a pain sometimes, but you'll get there.

I got my George L's today, and ran all of those, and it cut out all the extra noise. The Planet Waves was junk, so GC is getting that back tomorrow. I played through it with the volume at about 10:00 for about an hour today, and every now and then the volume just backs off a little bit. I'm wondering if it's the tubes.
Jayson, you told me before that these amps go through tubes quicker than what I've had in the past. I've gigged this amp about 10 times, play it at home two or three times a week, and it was a floor model at the store where I got it before that. You think it's time for some new tubes in it?
Thanks. Nick

My volume was fading in and out, and the amp finally died one night on stage. I quickly slapped a set of spare power tubes in it, and case closed. Mark Humphrey Humphrey Audio
