I’ve been going between the Jetta and Cure although I like the sound of the Jetta better. I am looking to get an amp that I can crank up all the way to get the tubes to break up but want to turn it down to bedroom levels. The Cure allows this through the level and I am hoping I can do the same with the master volume on the Jetta. Also, is it true that the master is post phase inverter?
So if I turn the volume up all the way, can I use the master volume as an attenuator without losing the drive? I realize the speaker fluctuation can provide some of the overall tone but I am not worried about that in this instance.

^^^ Yes. The JETTA is a very versatile machine. Bedroom to Stage. Whisper to powerhouse.
From the Dr Z website: "The circuit topology provides a streamlined, effective signal path from guitar to speaker: a volume knob to adjust the gain and saturation, a single tone knob to quickly adjust for any guitar you plug in, and an attenuator-like master volume knob provides control at any volume level, with no loss of tonal integrity, detail, or bandwidth. "

The Jetta's master preserves tone, but the amp does sound better when you turn it up.

Ya, post phase inverter master volume on the Jetta. Preamps for each (Jetta & Cure) are completely different, as are their respective overdriven tones. Cure is like a MAZ with lots of gain and front end breakup on tap, with plenty of EQ control to steer the OD tone. Jetta gets Fat when you dime the volume, and doesn’t matter where you put that tone control, it’s fat!

How does the Jetta work at low volume (both master and volume low) when using dirt pedals? Does it still maintain a good eq (good highs and lows)?
