Sooner or later this is bound to come up....so, here goes.
As usual, Doc's speaker choice for this amp is perfect. The G12H Anniversary sounds fantastic in this little amp. However, enquiring minds never seem to what to see how other speakers sound.
I first tried plugging it into a Z 1-12 cab with a Gold in it. I sounded just fine. Had a little more AlNiCo chime, but I liked the stock speaker better. Then I have a WGS ET-90 and put in the amp. WOW....another fantastic speaker. Very stout and robust. Love it. I didn't think that speaker would come out.
I have been on a speaker benge the past few months and had ordered a couple of the new Tone Tubby's. I put a new Purple Haze 40 watt AlNiCo in the JETTA and I'll tell ya......AMAZING!!! It has even more chime and clarity than the Gold, with a full fat low end. This one is staying a while.
Anyone tried any other speakers? I know it's early, but these things are selling good and fast. WIth the Thanksgiving sale going on, everyone needs a $1189.15 JETTA....and, at that price, speaker experimentation is easy.
What ya think??

I'm liking the Celestion G12-35Xc with the Jetta. I'm not good at describing speakers but to my ears it's smoother than the G12h and still retains the clarity.

Gigged with a Celestion neo-creamback last night. Smoother than the stock G12H and not as efficient. Definitely more mids. Plus it's 5# lighter! Still didn't get the master past 10:00.

Gigged with a Celestion neo-creamback last night. I’ve been intrigued by that speaker. Pete Thorn speaks highly of it. The cool thing about the JETTA is it has enough power to not worry about inefficient speakers.

I compared them side-by-side. The neo is rated 3 dB lower than the Alnico cream, but it doesn't seem that different to me. The Blue was definitely louder in the Z-plus than the alnico cream.
