I was blown away within the first few minutes after receiving my JETTA #1.... After almost 2 weeks, I am still giddy about this little amp. The small, lightweight, powerful if need be package has amazing tones at an unbelievable price point. I've seen and owned other brands at $1000 and more that did not have the "it" factor as the JETTA does. The clean tones are great, the edge of break-up tones are better, and the full on overdriven tones are amazing! Think thick & juicy! The simple 3 knob simplicity, reminds me of Dr Z's earlier designs and are very interactive. The Volume control is appropriately named, as it not only increases gain, but volume and low end as well. The Tone control is amazingly tuned. At 10am on the dial, it still has plenty of highs for single coils, yet rolling it up to max yields more gain and less low's and low mids, still not harshness to be found. Super cool. Finally the Master is just that, allowing you to set the overall volume level to what ever SPL you need. This knob is very sensitive given the power of this little beast! Also as you turn the Master up, it allows more highs to come through. All these working together make this a wildly versatile little package. The UK made G12H30 Anniversary fits this amp very well. Of all the Z amps I've owned and tried over the years, I've never had one with this speaker, even though it's one of Dr Z's most used speaker. The Metro Zero-Loss loop is a great feature as some folk "have" to have a loop. I tried a delay and chorus through it and worked perfectly. I normally use use my pedalboards and/or pedals right into the frontend and they sound great with this amp as well. Within a couple of days with this amp, I was so impressed, I decided to order ANOTHER one. ( Always like the idea of two matching amps played together ) At this price and the cool looks of it I pulled the trigger. After I did, and sleeping on it a few days, I had thoughts of sending one back. I didn't actually "need" the first JETTA. I don't actually "need" more than a couple of different guitars and maybe 2 amps......but hey, you only live once!! I've about decided to keep both and just enjoy. Back to the size and power of this amp. I bought a MAZ 8 & CURE when they first came out and really liked them at first. Both great, low volume amps, but in the end, they both lacked the volume, punch and low end that I desire. Inter the JETTA! Same size and great looks as the other two, but all the punch, power and thump I need for any situation. I know Dr Z is tired of hearing this, but I think this amp is just a legendary and ground breaking as the Carmen Ghia and Maz Jr, and in time hope to see it in as many configurations. Original studio size, full size combo cab and head formats. Time will tell, but the amp is a killer little grab-n-go as is and will be used as so. Thanks again for another great product Doc!~

Mark, mine just got here a few hours ago and I let it defrost a little and am giving her the first tryout.
Just wondering, do yours get pretty hot? Mine sure seems to, maybe even a tad hotter than my Cure. Sounds good, no smoke or funny noises, but has the [normal] new amp burning in smell and the chassis is pretty warm above the power tubes. Been running maybe an hour and otherwise seems OK.

Yes, I've noticed the JETTA gets a little warmer than some Z's...however, it's a hot little ride! 30 Z watts packed into that little package is expected to get a little warm, I'd think. Rock on!~

How quiet can the Jetta get and still keep its tone? My band does a lot of smaller, quieter gigs, so I'm very reliant on the Cure's level control. I don't think I could afford to keep both amps, but the Jetta has me very curious.

Has a very present tone to my ears...but with some stronger verve than cure...owned cure as well and would do the jetta over cure...one gig I was over powered using cure so having power to spare is a good thing.

I....don't think I have to worry about the Cure being overpowered.

I....don't think I have to worry about the Cure being overpowered. I don't believe I have designed amp amp that has the great control of volume with great tone then the CURE. That is the CURES strength . The JETTA has a different quality , big warm tone from a small compact light weight package. Z

The Cure is perfect for what I do--the only electric guitar in rootsy, semi-acoustic band that mostly plays small rooms. But dang, the Jetta is tempting.

I've been playing my Jetta and Tele for the past couple of days at home. The Jetta and the neck pup on my Nash 57 are a match made in heaven. I can't put it down.

I went to Midwood Guitar Studio in Charlotte today. I tried out a Suhr Alt Tele through a JETTA they had there. The JETTA sounded great. The Suhr sounded great. I brought the Suhr home.....now playing it through my own JETTA.
The guys at the shop were commenting on how good the JETTA sounded at low volumes. They weren't telling me squat! Great guys, great shop, great amp!

I usually play quite loud, even at home, but I can just as easily knock it WAY down for playing at night, and it sounds amazing.

The tone that I've heard through demo videos is quite compelling. Very different than any other Z amp. Great price to and definitely loud enough 4 almost any gigging situation.

Honestly, man, the amp just has something that I can't quite explain. I've considered ditching it a few times just to try other things, but the second I spend more time with it, I change my mind. It's different enough that nailing certain sounds is really hard, and can be a frustrating experience, but when you stop expecting it to sound like A or B, it's unbelievable. It has actually gotten to the point where I am expecting my other amps to sound like the Jetta, and am getting frustrated with THEM. The Jetta is big and fat in a way that none of my other amps are. The mid range thump can be almost too much at times, but I find myself missing it when it's gone. They're so freaking reasonable, I say just do it.

I can say that the tone in Matt's Music Demo is the exact tone I get from the Jetta and my Tele. Exactly! I even copied the same groove that Chris opens the demo with and the tones matched. THAT tone is why I bought the Jetta. So if you like the tones Chris gets on Matt's Music demo, you'll love the Jetta.

Ive plugged my board in at night and brought the Master down quite low and still sounded good. I much prefer up around 11am on the master lol, but when ya gotta keep it down the Jetta Master works great.

No one else at home today, so I cranked the Jetta up pretty good with both Vol and Master around noon. The amp is really alive at that point (with my Tele). I can use a pretty light touch, and notes bloom. If I want to hit hard for a chord part, I turn the guitar volume down more.
It's a great amp and an incredible bargain.

You really nailed it here, man. I use my guitar volume more on this amp than any other amp I've ever played, seriously. I realize how spoiled I am, because I usually keep my master around 11-12 o'clock most of the time, although I keep the volume a touch lower - around 10-11. It's seriously wild how much you can control just from your guitar - tone and volume, how heavy you pick - I love it. I had been playing with my tone knob on the Jetta around noon for the longest time, but lately have had it around 2-3 o'clock, and it really brought the amp to life. Tons of harmonic content. Even with a Strat on the bridge pickup, it never gets remotely harsh. I'm not entirely convinced I could make this amp sound harsh without introducing some insane EQ pedal setup.

Everyone seems to talk about the Jetta with single coils, but in this video, the humbuckers sound killer through the Jetta!
