I would appreciate if somebody could tell me the tube layout and which tube is in which socket. I'm pretty sure V3 is the tube driver, but I am unsure as to which is the phase inverter. Thanks

V3 is the reverb driver, V4 is reverb recovery and the tube right next to the output tubes is the phase inverter. It's that way on every amp I know of except some Gibsons that use a transformer for a phase inverter, which is more expensive but doesn't sound near as good.

Looking at the back of the amp, the tube on the far right is V1-1st preamp, V2-Tone stack driver, V3-reverb send (12AT7), V4-Reverb return, V5-Phase inverter then the 2 EL-84's are your power tubes and the large tube towards the front of the amp is your rectifier GZ34.

I have a couple of 7025s -they're supposed to be fantastic. (We fell in love with one when we put it in a Fender Concert in place of one of the 12ax7s) I want to try one or two in my MAzJr. V-1 and V-2 are the candidates - what is the difference between "1st preamp" and "tone stack drive" in terms of what I might hear using a different tube? (did that make any sense?)
