Got out for my second gig with the new to me Strat that I recently picked up. It's taking a little getting used to. Way different than my Tele...which is all I have ever played! Anyway, just thought I'd share...it pairs so nice with my Maz Jr! This was taken last weekend. I recorded the audio with my QSC Touchmix and gave it a quick mix after in Studio One. I don't really know what I am doing when it comes to that haha. We're just a bunch of older guys having some weekend fun!

Man I would have expected some white jean dancing babes! nice gig, thanks for sharing They were all backstage! haha! Thanks for the kind words guys. John, the axe came down on a couple flubs I made during the show, LOL! I totally botched a solo on the Sheepdogs tune we do. Lee, thank you. The recording did come out nice. It all came from the Touchmix and was pre fader/effects etc...I mixed it down using what little bit of knowledge I have. Which is limited. I got lucky I think.

Sounds great - especially for a trio, and the singer is no slouch either!

Nicely done, Mark! And yeah, the Maz 18 is a great Strat amp. Recording sounds excellent--obviously you had amps and drums mic-ed up. What kind of hard drive did you use? Does the Touchmix do multi-channel output for recording? Sure sounds like it does.

What's the scale length on that backup axe? It looks enormous!

Does the Touchmix do multi-channel output for recording? Sure sounds like it does. Hey Jon, each instrument was mic'd up...bass was direct line out to the mixer. I had an AT2020 on my amp, one AT2020 as an overhead for drums, a tom mic and kick. Plus our vocals. The mixer records in multi track. I arm each channel for recording, press the button and go. It can record pre or post fader...I always go pre fader so I can mix the tracks later in Studio One. It records to the external drive (mine is just a small SSD I think, I can't recall the brand but it's tiny and has a lot of space). Then I have to use the QSC DAW utility to import the tracks from the external drive to my PC...load em up to the DAW and have at them. It came out quite nice overall. I just guess on most of it...I did use some presets for each instrument and tweaked as necessary. It's no masterpiece but it sounds a lot better than the raw camera audio.
