I played the whole gig with the amp cranked to 3'oclock on half power, with a Gold and a Tele, and I just couldn't get her dirty enough. I just got the amp, and have spent a lot of time with it at home and on one other gig. So I know the DB4 has plenty of crunchy dirt in her.
But I got to the festival later than I hoped and had 15 minutes to get everything set up and do a line check. I used my Greer Lightspeed OD to get me the dirt I needed and was fine for the gig. But I thought "I shouldn't have to use a dirt pedal with the amp almost dimed!"
I talked to ILuvPunz about it today (we're in the same band, and I traded him my Remedy for the DB4) He quickly told me "You were in the Low Input. Try the Hi input."
Well, I know that! I just didn't even think about it when I was plugging it in!
How's that for knuckleheaded user error?
