Went down the dark vintage fender path briefly. Just no comparison. Picked up a 1x10 CG. Also bought back a 1x10 I had sold. Sounded so good last night. Ahh... I'm good until death. 2) 1x10's, 1) 2x10 combo, and an older 2x10 maz 18.

I've been on the vintage Fender path for at least 20 years (almost as long as I've been playing). I like to think I've reached a comfortable middle ground with two early 60's Fenders, a Z-28 and a Therapy.

I'm always good until I see one I don't have. Which is why I'm making the trip to Cleveland this Thursday. I received my new Maz 38 Prototype last week. I dropped it into a ready and willing Blonde Studio with a Cream Alnico. It's quite impressive, I really like playing in Full mode with a light break up dirt and the MV down, sort of a bluesy mode. As far as Confessions and Fenders and such, I think I have built all of the main amps, and the circuits have integrated in the improvements so I am pretty much covered for most tones. Dear lord, the problem is that I have ideas of other amps I want to build or own, and I can't bring myself to sell any of them. |
