The Ray is the one that got away from me. I’d love to see it come back out. Especially as a head version!

Put me down for one! A head. If I recall, the initial indications were for the amp to reside in the Z-Wreck combo cab. I'd be in for a head too! I mean, that chassis will fit in a silver set Z-Wreck head cab, right

While not a combo it is the Red/Cream combination - it's #001 - owned formerly by some guy named Brad or something like that Here's a pic of it along with some guy named BX or BW or sumptin.

Was that stingray Paisley? Or 737? Lol....Mike is joking! It was Brad Paisley's #1 Stingray. Man, member Brad737, I haven't heard that name in a long time 😀

It's not a bad amp, just nothing like a Ray. The DB4 is very mid-heavy in comparison, and much darker than a Ray. It's just a thick, dark amp....Great for rock, great for blues.... Not the best at "pretty" cleans though. Where-as the Ray is probably the pinnacle of clean tones to most of us around these parts....and can be fairly bright if you need it. There is a video of a DB4 getting some great country tones, but I just couldn't get a clean tone I liked. I thought the DB4, being a Doc/Brad designed amp.....Would be in the same ballpark as the RxES, Ray, and Z-Wreck.....But it's not. Once again, it's not a bad amp at all......Just not an amp I'd compare to a Ray (or anything based off an AC30). Here's my history with the two, in pics..... 2006: 2018: 2016:

I feel like I really missed out on the StangRay. I wish I could order one now.

Telejas, thank you. I kinda felt it would be heavier than the Ray. And if i do grab a DB4 I’m pretty sure it will live in position 1 on the Tone Control. I might hold out for the X ray, we’ll see. But there was some Magic goin’ on with my Ray Combo. That Circuit with the Gold is Unbelievable. It has the Kerrrang of a Hiwatt, chime of an AC30, and its crazy perfect with a Strat. My Perfect Sound. I’ll get it Back.

I'd be tempted to pick up an X-Ray to compare tonality - for science, of course. While not a combo it is the Red/Cream combination - it's #001 - owned formerly by some guy named Brad or something like that I assume those are the settings you received it with, aren't they Mike?

Charlie - those are not the settings that were on the amp when I got it because there were two owners in between Brad and I. I did find pictures of this amp online from when Brad did own it and it was set as you see it in the picture.
