So I’ve reached a state of Nirvana into my Db4 with this trifecta of pedals (Tumnus, Deep Six, Flint). Please, try this combination with your Db4. I quickly found out that this amp eats pedals like a hungry hungry hippo and it sounds glorious right now!

What does the Deep 6 bring to the DB4? I mean, I know it's a compressor - but what does it add that the DB4 needs? Smoothness? Sustain? a smile?

What does the Deep 6 bring to the DB4? I mean, I know it's a compressor - but what does it add that the DB4 needs? Smoothness? Sustain? a smile? Evens out the note strength from low to high, I like how it adds bass to my thumb when finger picking certain parts of songs, adds more sustain, and allows you to blend in the signal without getting overly squished. I’ve been using it mostly clean but some might prefer taking it off for the overdrive stuff. I tried it during a loop for solo with distortion and preferred it on because it allowed the notes to ring out more/longer. I don’t use a whole lot of sustain on the pedal but you can tell. The real winner is the Tumnus Deluxe though. I’d still like to compare to a rc booster version 2 but like you said I’m not too worried about it at the moment with this big “smile”.
