I've got a Maz 18 2x12 which I have had for about 3 years now. Just tonight it started making this ticking noise. Any ideas of what this could be?
thanks

I'm sure there are others who can reply in more detail but I'd say it's probably a tube issue. At least that's where I'd start.

It's probably one of your preamp tubes. Contact Myles on the forum. He will help you out.

Could well be dirty A/C coming down the line. Any new appliances in the house?

I put my money down that it is the A/C in the line; I have the same ticking but I get it through my twin reverb and my Dr. Z, also tried different guitars, different cables, but in the end it was the A/C in the line that caused the tick. Great call Billyguitar!

I've seen it all. Cell phone in the pocket-tick/tick (or sitting on/nearby amp). Analog wrist watch-tick/tick (coming through pickups). Bad pre amp tube(s), generally not as "in sync" and strident as say a watch. And for the AC line always use a power strip, some have some "filtering" that will help. Try a different outlet.

Try an outlet on a different circuit. If it's still there, plug it in at a neighbor's house.

How close together are the ticks? Mine made a ticking/popping sound for awhile, but the ticks/pops were pretty far apart. Turned out to be a loose nut around either the power or standby switch. (I forget which it was.)
