I have a gnarly early 80's Big Muff. The tone switch needs a bunch of wiggling not have the entire sound of the pedal cut out. Is contact cleaner a god thing to try or should I replace the switch altogether.
If contact solution is ok to try, what brand do you suggest or are they all OK?

I have found that putting a sleeve of the proper size plastic, vinyl, or silicone tubing over the threaded portion of the switch and then spraying DeOxit down the side of the switch shaft is really helpful in getting it into the switch's contacts.
