I just got her last week and I'm having a ball. I can't wait to gig with it, and just ordered a LeCover to keep her looking new and snug in the cold Chicago winter.

Welcome telecopter. Try posting some pictures of 'er, we'd all like to see. Instructions are in the general section. Photobucket is a good free host for your pics.

telecopter, (btw VERY cool name!!) with a 1st letter "P" it's a 2004 model... but the Dr started with the letter "A" in 89 and a new letter every year since.... so I think that'd make yours an 04..... I think the "81" is the model amp... (jr 2x10 combo?) and the 034 would make it the 34 th maz jr 2x10 combo.... ( unless only the 8 is the model for the JR and it's the 1034 th JR?? would have to ask the doc about the specific amp #...) Jason

ooops, prowlers right and I was wrong... don't know what I was thinking 1989 for.... memory is the 1st to go... sooo ( really official sounding the second time like I know what I'm talkin about) IF the 1st letter is "P" it's a 2005 model.... but the Dr started with the letter "A" in 90 and a new letter every year since.... so I think that'd make yours an 05..... btw thanks prowler for the CORRECT information.... ;D I'm not to full of myself not to laugh at myself every now and again... btw wasn't there another post awhile back that the doc explained what the other numbers represented... sorry for the misinformation.... 1000 lashes with a wet noodle....

Thanks Guys for the edumacation (-:
Jason, it's funny you would mention the name...I came up with that on the "fly" while registering on the Gear Page. I usually go by my real name on other boards, but I thought that I would be "incognito" on TGP....and here (-;

"incognito" would be a cool screen name, too.

Yeah both mine are "M's" & doc told me they were '02's... I believe the 1st number is "the model" then the last 3 or 4 numbers is the number/amount of that model made ;^)

" Yeah both mine are "M's" & doc told me they were '02's... I believe the 1st number is "the model" then the last 3 or 4 numbers is the number/amount of that model made ;^) " Zane, think your right on the 1st number being the model and the last numbers of that model made on this amp.... theres a Maz 18 2x10 on e-bay serial number L-8318... seems to make it # 318 of the maz 18's and made in 2001.... also it would seem to make telecopters maz serial # P-81034... # 1034 of the maz 18's and made in 2005... I wonder if doc could give us or maybe we could figure out the "model numbers" on each amp he's designed for dating purposes... because I'm thinking ALL of his amp models can't have SINGLE digit model numbers cause he's made too many models... some of em MUST have a DOUBLE digit model number??? right??? I'm no genious like doc, but he's got 13 amps in his line-up right now so theres no way he can have single digit model numbers for all of em.... and thats not including the several discontinued models.... so some of em's got to have a 2 digit model number right... wonder which ones and what are the numbers?? just being curious as usual... hey being nosey is my job, sort of.... ;D Jason

That would be helpful information to be able to access, especially for players looking to buy used. A complete listing could probably be tacked up on the forum here or added to the website for quick reference.

Yea, could post it in the "news from DR Z" section or have a separate section like "DATE YOUR Z"...... um then again that sounds like you want to "marry" your Z or something??? ;D

Wow, I ordered a new Maz Jr 210 and picked it up 3 weeks ago (loving it by the way!). I would be surprised if the last 4 *OR* 3 numbers were the amount produced that year. That would mean there have been almost 200 made by early February... just more than I thought considering all of the other models being made as well.

M77,
I think the number of amps made (whichever number that is represented in the serial number) is the TOTAL number of amps since that model came out and NOT just the number of that amp in that year (or any) single year....
I think I read this somewhere else on this forum... someone else can chime in and confirm or corrrect me but I believe this is the correct info ....
(notice how carefully worded it is now that I have stuck my foot in my mouth before... ;D)

" Jason,
Sorry I realize my misunderstanding after reading the other posts again! ...(placing foot in mouth!)... " thats cool...it happens....... personally I prefer dress shoes to athletic shoes (cause they're a little sweaty)... but you can always just put a little tobasco sauce on em and they're not to bad, really... ;D ;D or maybe I'm just getting used to opening the mouth and inserting the foot.... my wife thinks so. or maybe I'm just getting used to opening the mouth and inserting the foot.... my wife thinks so.Have you had the new Chipotle Tabasco? It tastes like Dr. Z tone in your mouth! Just soak your piggies in some of that and then say whatever you want! Yeah, it got better. Went with friends to a place called Topeka's and got a free birthday Filet Mignon, normally $16.95. Best steak I've had in months. No Tabasco sauce here. It was just right, grilled medium rare with a garlic salt rub. Drove back and stayed up late painting a mural at home. Almost finished now. "Did we Have a better day?? or did the cake catch on fire.... mines starting to get pretty hot with all dem candles on it."No fire alarms went off due to cake fire, but I have to admit that the combined sench of burnt shortening and burnt sugar would make for a memorable celebration, to say the least. I'll be celebrating with family later in the week and I have a great idea for a cake decoration. I'll post photos to let you see how it turns out. Meanwhile, back to the mural. Should finish tonight.
