Anyone running an Xotic RC booster into their Db4? I’m gassing for this pedal a little bit from some of the rave reviews and like the idea of adding in some additional adjustability on the bass/treble.

My apologies for taking so long to reply. But I was curious about this myself, and wanted to try it first.
I found it best if you set your tone knob on the setting you like most with the guitar of choice. And then engage the RC and add (or subtract ) vol./tone/gain to taste. Also, setting the RC treble to noon, with the DB4 cut knob fully clockwise for a starting point helped.
These were what I noticed, but I'd like to add ymmv - and - it sure works nice with the DB4. Good suggestion, Thanks!

But then again, what doesn't work nice with the DB4?
I sure hope this amp will see another incarnation, for those that didn't get to try V1...

I thought you were getting rid of yours??? Correct, it’s up for trade but in the event that nothing comes of it I would like to continue and strive for the best tone possible out of the db4. It’s takes pedals absolutely wonderful which is why I asked about the rc booster. Could be what it takes to bring the Db4 into that tonal nirvana for me.

Have you tried using any kind of EQ pedal with it?

Have you tried using any kind of EQ pedal with it? I have not which is why I was considering the rc booster (as an eq option of sorts) since it has some adjustability with the bass/treble. People also seem to view this pedal as “the one” to achieve their tone. I play Fralin p92/blues special pickups in one guitar and Lollar Regals in my other. Never been much of a single coil guy but I’m drawn to the bass on settings 4/5, would like to get more brightness out of the amp though on those settings (hence the rc booster). Oooor, add the bass to settings 2 or 3 with the RC booster.

FWIW, i had an AC Booster, and tried others including the RC Booster (i think). i ended up buying a TC Electronics Spark Boost b/c it was more transparent than others i tried. others seemed to add to the mids automatically, whereas the TC doesn't, unless you want it to.

This little gold nugget arrived today and I couldn’t be happier with the eq adjustability that it provided with the Db4.

They’re a little on the pricey side but it’s by far my favorite pedal on the board. I picked mine up from prymaxe.com since they’re usually good for at least 15% off.
