Well, it won't be long now........I'm having trouble fighting off the urge to buy one. I would like some opinions on the pros and cons of the combos. Initially I was leaning towards a 1 x 12, although I am starting to think the 2 x 10 may be better suited for my needs.
I would gig the amp occasionally-I play a Tele, Strat, and PRS-musically a lot of twangin' country, some blues, and some rock and roll as well. Any suggestions?

Country players (I'm told) enjoy the sparkle the 10s give you vs. the 12. The 12 has a little more bottom end, like you would expect from a 12.
Mathematically, the 2x10s push more air than 1x12. You guys, school me if I'm talking sideways here.

My 2x10 just arrived yesterday, and I can't recommend it strongly enough. I play a Telecaster, and this amp has the 3-D, ringing tone I hoped for and more than enough bottom end.

2x10 all the way, the dispersion is better and the low end is more punchy and articulate. What I have found with my amps, is that I generally like them better thru 2 speakers, and I think that there's some magic in the interaction between the speakers, particularly when they are dissimilar as in the ZBest . I have used the 2x10s in the Maz and my ZBest, with my other amps that have a single speaker, and going from a single speaker to two adds bottom and definition to the entire frequency range.
I have a friend here in town who builds furniture grade speaker cabinets out of mahogany and maple, fabricating the boards for the cabinets with a center stripe of maple about 3-5 inches wide surrounded by mahogany planed to 3/4 inches thick, with a mahogany or maple baffle, 3/4 inches thick or doubled at the speaker like the Doc does his 2x10s for that tone ring effect. He builds primarily for the pedal steel market, with 15's but he has also done a number of 2x10 and 2x12 cabs with that combination of silver and blue Webers. We've done a fair bit of development and comparison testing and whether using his cabinets or mine, two speakers consistently beat a single speaker to our ears for electric guitar. Just more of everything good.

Hey Dude,
What pickup do you favor on the Tele (and what kind of pickups, for that matter)? I tend to linger on the neck or neck-bridge series/parallel (four-way switch), and those positions are just stellar with my 2x10, but the bridge alone...well, clean it seems to lack the liveliness of the other positions.
Granted, I've got unusual pickups (Fralin steel poles, slightly overwound), but a buddy of mine has a stock American Deluxe and he's not all that happy with the tones of his Maz Jr 2x10 with the bridge pickup going it alone.
As it happens, last week I ordered a 1x12 cab with a Greenback after playing a similar cab and getting much happier tones from a Tele bridge pickup. But, it was kind of muddy with the neck pickup, so I'm getting a Cab Bone to switch between the two.
Perhaps you might need to expand your query to something like, "2x10 or 1x12 Greenback, G12H, or Blue?" The Blue might be a great middle ground, from what I hear people saying.
Meanwhile, I have absolutely no complaints about my PRS through the 2x10. Just mind bogglingly sweet tone. Clear and full, whether clean, overdriven, or screaming.
BKS
A little addendum here: my Maz Jr NR is a little older, sportin' the old ECC83 tube config, but my buddy's got a newer one with Svets...also, I think there might be something else going on with his, but he's not ready to admit it yet...

My Telecaster(American Standard) has stock pick-ups and for me the middle position has sounded best in the 36 hrs. I've had my Maz 18. I'm considering changing to Rio Grande pick-ups though.

Buy boths cabs and alternate. The 2x10 is cool and definitely sounds great, but for all around versatility I love the 1x12. I swapped the Vintage 30 for an Alnico Blue and it is creamy and rich. I love it. Not the tone for everyone but it works for me! Also sounds FANTASTIC with my Route 66!
