I am getting a hum from the amp when everything is hooked up and my hands are not on the strings when I put my hands on the strings or when I touch the cord going in to the guitar's jack.
I am playing through a Gibson Les Paul so I shouldn't have a hum unless this is normal for Dr. Z's. I checked the outlet and it is grounded but I am playing next to my computer which is on so could this be the problem.
Someone help Please, Shawn

Hey man, it is the computer for sure. I always can hear the computer and especially the screen through my amps if they are setup close to the computer, even 6ft away. Fridges can also cause a lot of noise. Try setting up your amp in a different location away from fridges, computers and other electronic devices and see if the noise is still there. Good luck!

The hum was still there even with the computer off so I disconnected the guita, still there, then I disconnected the cord and it went away so I think its the cord which is a monster 3 ft. cord so it should be fine but I'll just have to try my 12 ft. when I get it and go from there.

How did it go with a different cord?

Hum was still there after I tried a different cord so I put it in to a different outlet on the other side of the house and it was much better but there was still a slight hum that would go away when I touch the strings on the guitar.
Has anyone else had anything like this happen?

That is totally normal to get a hum if you let go of the guitar. Single coils or humbucker guitars will hum when you stop touching the instrument. Of course single coils pickup more noise so sometimes it does not matter what you are doing. Glad to hear it was only a power issue and not somthing more serious. Enjoy the amp.

Aruntang, Thanks for all your help I definately will enjoy the amp. I was playing on a Flextone III amp so I am not used to the Hum but the sound of the amp is like night and day. My wife even noticed a difference which is amazing.
I just can't wait to try out my pedals on this amp and actually play with my band.
