I know the Fryette Power Station, Bad Cat Unleash, etc. can be used to both attenuate AND boost signal from an amp to the cab. Has any of you ever done the latter? Taking a lower wattage amp like something 5-30 watts, and boosting it into a cab for more volume from a small amp?

No. But I have the fryette ps2 and have thought about it. I think it would be fine and probably sound great. Almost like connecting to a pa for more volume, except through your cabinet!

That was the reason I originally got my Fryette PS2. I went from a MAZ 18 to a MAZ 8 because it was the volume range that I mostly played. But I occasionally had a situation where I needed more volume. The PS2 works great for that. It sounds just like the smaller amp, just louder. I've tried it with other amps with the same results. A Princeton Reverb and a tweed Deluxe 5E3 clone. I much prefer reamping and boosting a small amp to attenuating a large amp. An unexpected benefit was that I found the PS2 also to be the best attenuator I've ever tried.
