I am absolutely blown away by the Remedy. I got mine in today and my only regret is not having bought it sooner. I did a little trading this week with a guitar I had and ended up with a 65 Amps 112 redline cab I assumed I would sell. I was also surprised by how great it sounds. It’s loaded with a WGS Reaper HP.
My other Z is a Therapy running through a Z Best. I may swap the Reaper into the Z Best to see if it helps brighten things a bit. This is the first amp that I have owned and don’t feel like I need pedals to make it sound great. In fact, with little exception, I found the Remedy to be more to my liking without any pedals (although I use a Beano Boost to balance the tone on my Les Paul’s neck pickup.

If you have the ability, try pairing the Remedy with something in the greenback camp. The Z-best great, but the Remedy-greenback match seems to be a top overall match. Since the 65 amps cabinet is a 1x12...you could put a Creamback M in there. (it's a high powered greenback)
To me...anything in the G12H30 camp (like your Reaper) sounds terrible with the Remedy.
Have you tried the Z-best with the Remedy?

Have you tried the Z-best with the Remedy? I haven’t tried it with the Z Best yet. But to be honest, I’m not that impressed it’s the Z Best. It’s too woofy which is probably more an issue of me standing in front of the cab and getting all the air pushed against me. I’ve been considering the creamback and I’ve been really impressed with the 65 Amps cab (despite it being incredibly ugly). I may try to sell the Z Best and pick up a backline 212 or convertible. I’m going to try the Z Best tomorrow.

Remedy + GreenBack loaded Z-Best = R&R Nirvana.

When I had a Remedy and the Z-Best I put two Celestion made in England Greenbacks in it. I also had a les Paul at the time. These guys are spot on that was the best possible set up I had with the remedy it captured that 70s rock tone to a tee. The two greenbacks took away that woffiness your talking about and I believe that is attributed to the V30 in the Z-Best. I had the same issue with the Z-Best but once I put the greenbacks in it it changed the whole dynamics of that cab. A 1/12 cab with a celestion Creamback m-65 would also sound really good with the remedy. I had that as well. The remedy is still my favorite amp that the doc has put out. Congratulations. Enjoy.

When you say your Z-best is woofy...do you have it on it's side? So that both speakers are side by side..close to the floor? This position increases bass, and could be the cause. Try standing it up, so the speakers are vertical..one on top, one on bottom. There is less bass that way.

I use a 1 X12 Creamback M. Works well for me. I was always a fan of the Vintage 30, but at 100 dB it’s a little too loud for my current situation, though I’ve been thinking... I really like the variety of tones I can get from the Remedy. ME

I too use a Creamback M....at 97db..it allows you to crank the amp a little more.
I've A/B'd the Creamback with a V30. The V30 with the Remedy...to me...sounds very "heavy metal" in tone.

Fortunately, we run our sound around 94dB in the sanctuary so I can run my amp well. I did just order a G12M so I’m hopefully it will be as good as proclaimed. How long does this speaker take for break in?

It depends on how loud you play. The louder you play, the quicker it breaks in. But most people say somewhere around 40 hours.

If breaking in is important to you...you can always try what I used to do. (or a variation)
I would take the speaker out of the box (or cabinet) and hook it up to my PA head and run a drum & bass loop for hours on end. I would also wrap the speaker in blankets or a sleeping bag, being careful not to have any pressure on the cone. Do this when you leave for work..provided there's no one else at home. Do this for a couple of days in a row..and shazam..you're speaker is broken in. With a brand new speaker, I'd start out slow for the first hour or so, then steadily increase the volume. I've done this for most speakers and it works great.
It effects some speakers more than others. I had a brand new V30 that sat on a shelf for years because I thought it sounded like crap. So I figured I'd hook it up and really give it a whack with drum/bass loops. I just SLAMMED that speaker. (It's a 60 watt rating, it could take a pounding) The cone was moving back and forth almost an entire inch! I put it in a cabinet, fired up the amp and wow....what a difference. It was actually a nice speaker then!

I found that my Creamback was quite good out of the box, and would say it was fully broken in in under 30 hours. As alternative I would look at getting 2 greenbacks for the zbest cab. Since you already own that cabinet I think that would be ideal.

I currently have a mesa boogie open back 1/12 cab with a alnico cream in it and I’m running a Marshall 2061X into it. That alnico cream is amazing. I would love to hear the remedy into the alnico cream. I also at one time had a alnico Gold with my remedy and that was also a great speaker with the remedy however I liked the creamback a little better. I also liked the non master version of the remedy better then the master volume version. The V30 is my least favorite speaker I don’t want to use the word hate but I really don’t particularly like that speaker at all.

[ What I usually do is crank the amp up run as loud as you can stand it and just beat the crap out of your guitar with power chords and fast percussive playing for about 20 minutes a day for about a week . My alnico cream sounded great right out the box but the cream back took a little while to break in. It still sounded good out the box but it warmed up even better in time . Johns way is the best way to do this though because it is really bad for your ears the way I do it. Be careful with your ears. If I had to do it again I would use ear plugs.
