Can chrome pickup covers be added to pickups? I see the covers for sale. . . . . Anyone do it? Todd

You can add them. I've done it several times. The trick is getting them soldered. With Patty and your soldering experience, I'm guessing it wouldn't be a problem. Just need to make sure no hot solder drips into the coils. Sometimes they will slide on and be tight enough that you may not need to solder them to hold them in place.

Make sure you get the right pole piece spacing. If you have an f spaced pickup the standard Gibson covers will not fit.

I found a set of pickup your kid might want to try. They are from Bare Knuckle. Only problem is I can't say for sure what set they are. They measure out 13.75 bridge and 7.20 neck. Pretty sure they are the Cold Sweat set. Trade for a few cables.
