For no particular reason, I was looking around on reverb.com and started looking at Maz 18s.
I have a ghia, maz 38 and the Mazeratu 30th anniversary LE. I have absolutely no budget for another amp but, I was bored so I was just looking. I started googling the maz jr vs the ghia and found a very divided opinion, as one would expect. That got me wondering though, the maz, with the EQ bypass. If you left the EQ bypassed all the time, would that basically be a ghia with a master volume?

No...im going to say that the maz still retains its character/voxiness in bypass...two different amps in my world of playing

I agree. The Maz and the Carmen Ghia are way different. The Mazerati LE is basically a Carmen Ghia with double the power; the Maz series has a completely different preamp and tonal response.

I had Ghia Anni #10/50 for a couple of years and sold it earlier this year after I bought a Rativ2. Last week I got a Maz18NR mark 2 Head from Humbucker, and I feel like the Maz puts the Ghia in the shade as far as versatility, although I liked the Ghia when I had it.

your feelings are on point imho...(mine might move for a plus or mark 2 as well...)
