I got my Z Plus and I really love it. I was looking for harmonic richness, and that's what I got.
It came with the Z speaker, which I like very much. Very thick sounding, from cleans all the way to maximum distortion. Big fat sounds, even using a Tele on the bridge position.
I plugged into my cab with a single Celestion Gold, and it was remarkably different. Much more "clinical" sounding (hey, that could be a new amp name. Much more hi-fi. Obviously, when the amp distorts the speaker reproduces the distortion, but even that sounds somehow more polite than the Z 12. I think I read in another thread that the Gold likes to be pushed, and obviously the Z Plus is not going to do that. I don't think I'll be using the Gold with the Z Plus unless I'm going for the very most pristine of cleans.
More reports to come. My other cabs are all 2x12", so I wonder if the lack of "pushing" from the 15 watt Z Plus is going to be a theme.

The Doc also sells the Plus with a Blue for an additional up charge, so if you have one it might be worth a try. The Z12 is a great speaker and is hard to beat, so don’t be surprised if you wind up sticking with it. I use the Z12 in my Lux and Cure. Tried others but nothing worked as well. I do use Blues in my Maz’ and Monza though.

If I had a Z-Plus, which I will soon, I would put the Cream Alnico.
Something about that combo in the Maz circuit works quite well.
I used it in my Maz 18 and I have it in My Maz 8 now.
That's my 2 cents on Maz speakers for today.
