So... I’m in the market for a 1X12 Ghia. This may be an ignorant question, but I’ve noticed the Ghia has had two different “logos” over the years. When Z changed the logo, was the circuit changed too? Please forgive my ignorance in advance.

The older models.....90's and early 2000's had some slightly earlier breakup.

So... I’m in the market for a 1X12 Ghia. This may be an ignorant question, but I’ve noticed the Ghia has had two different “logos” over the years. When Z changed the logo, was the circuit changed too? Please forgive my ignorance in advance. For a long time, the full-production version of the Ghia (let's not worry about those early, rare, Hammond models, etc.) had the real simple-looking "Carmen Ghia" lettering on its faceplate. Sometime around 2010-ish, when the amp got UL-rated (these were safety changes, not tone) Doc changed it to a bolder "racing stripe" logo. And then--just to confuse you--Doc has switched back to the simpler logo within the last couple years. There are slight tonal differences from the old ones to now, probably due to parts availability, but for the most part (as Doc says in that video, above) he's kept the amp's circuit pretty true to the original. [Apparently the MAZ series amps have "evolved" sonically much more than the Ghia.] Hope that helps!

IMO This is not an ignorant question. The replies will be beneficial to me when I decide to get a little 1X10 CG Combo.

Howdy, I won't part with my 2008 Carmen Ghia. Thank you, Mike Zaite!

It's not about the logo... and all about the color of jewel light.
