I have been experiencing 2 small quirks with my MAZ 18 2/10. One is I am getting low ghost notes when I bend certain notes, I know this is a natural phenomenon with class A amps but it seems more pronounced than before. Two, when I unplug the guitar from the input there's a crunching sound, like someone eating potato chips but It goes away when I reinsert the plug, is there something with the input jacks that may require cleaning like a switching type jack? Other than that the amp works perfectly.

FYI- The Maz is not class "A", it's A/B cathode biased...from my understanding.
Ghost notes could be caused by an under filtered power supply (not common with Z amps) or a filter cap going bad. Or could be caused from a speaker(s), cone cry or rub. Or could be tube related, I would start with swapping out tubes with known good ones, to see if tubes are the problem.
Potato Chips-could be tubes, see above and it may take care of both problems. Is the amp new, are the tubes new? Could be static elect.
The easiest and the best do it yourself fix is to check tubes.

As usual the problem was tube related. I had the amp at a local music store for sale and I brought it home about 2 weeks ago. I guess that 2 months of being pounded by would be buyers wore the tubes out. I replaced the power tubes with a fairly new set and had to replace the reberb send tube also (V3). It seems to be working great, I noticed a degredation of sound and the ghost notes and a hum when playing certain notes with the old tubes in it. With the newer tubes the ghost notes dissapeared and the amp sounded overall better. I started getting some noise from my reverb so when I turned it up it became louder and then squealed uncontrollably. I changed the JJ 12AU7 that was in there with a Tung Sol 12AU7 and the problem went away.

I had previously posted about ntermittent squealing (1st maz 18 post) I also found the cause of that. My maz would go into intermittent squealing only at a gig and I could'nt get it to happen at home. Turns out the keyboard player's cellphone that he set on his keyboard right behind me was causing the squealing. The last few jobs we did he left the cell in the van and no squealing.
