10s on the Gibsons, 9s on the Fenders. If I’m drop tuning, sometimes I’ll set the guitar up with 12s.

.010 thru .046. MANY years ago I used Sound City .008's for awhile. Keep in mind that BG has a guitar tech who keeps handing him guitars that are tuned. Most of us don't have that luxury and can't spend the time tuning between songs at a gig.

10's on electric since the mid 80's.
But I recently bought a 10 pack of 9's...going to give them a try...some day.

Yup. I'm 10's also on the Les Paul and the Strat. I sometimes think I should go up one on the Strat since it feels a little sloppy to me versus the Les Paul.
Based on this thread, I suppose I should shelve my string company idea that was going to be named "We Do Anything But 10's!".

I use the Hybrid Slinkys. Wound strings from a pack of 10's and plain strings from a pack of 9's.

I used Hybrid Slinky on my Strat style guitars for years. I went to Regular Slinky sets on all my electrics for quite a while. I now play Lesters and have found 8’s to be my string choice. I don’t have tuning issues... It takes a day or two for the guitar to settle in, but after that it’s all good. You do play differently, not as hard... more in control, for me. I’ve done this on four LP’s and it is good. ME

I play 11-49 on all of my guitars:
Heritage Golden Eagle Gibson ES330 Gibson CS336 Guild Bluesbird Fender Strat Fender Tele Gretsch ProJet
That way, everything kind of feels the same.

9s for me. Used to use 8s back in the 70s, then went to 10s for a long time. I went to 9s about 15 years ago and haven't looked back. I love BB King's comment, I think he said it to BG regarding heavy strings..."Man, why are you workin' so hard?" I might go back to 8s if my hands don't stop hurting, lately arthritis has been bugging me.

Never knew! I’m fine with10s- it’s great there are other gauges! Especially for people suffering from something or other- 11s were a little work- I used them for a couple years- But then I just said what the heck! And 10s its been/ D’addario for me- just started using there NYXL- Supposed superior to there other offerings. Also just been finger plucking and using the Red Bear big jazzer! Splendid feel.

Are the NYXL strings significantly different than the regular nickle D'Addario strings are? Better tone, or feel?

I can't say for sure on either of those- I was happy with the regular d'addarios-- But after view how much stronger the NYXL s are I gave them a try- I have them on all my guitars (3) And Like them-- but I can't say I notice anything different-
