After trying several Z models, I've finally returned to my first Z love... the Maz. My first Z was a Maz 38 Reverb Combo with 2-10's. Replaced it with a Maz 38 NR Head and 2x10 cab. Eventually sold that Maz to try a Remedy or something, and nothing else felt quite like the Maz.
Just last week, my new RED Maz 18 NR head arrived from Humbucker. This is my first experience with the 18 watt Maz, and it's perfect! Oh how I missed the Maz! I'm currently running it through a 1x12 cab with a G12H30. Never got to try that speaker before, but I sounds great. I also have a Creamback to test with the Maz. These MK2 mods are incredible too.
Just had to say that it's so good to play through the Maz again. Feels like coming home.

I have a Z-lux, A Super Reverb RI, and a Princeton, and theres just something about my Maz with the G12H30 that makes me want to take it on every gig. It is an amp that really comes alive at higher volumes, so whenever the venue calls for it, the Maz goes with me.

Today I finally tried the Creamback with my Maz. I really like it. I like the G12H30 too though. Tuff decision. Everything sounds so good with this amp.

The Creamback is my favourite speaker with the Maz, I used a V30 for a long time, then the Gold, tried the G12H30, but prefer the CB for its warmth, still with a tight low end, harmonic character, and lower efficiency. Sounds very natural. Works well for me and all my other speakers are now sold.

Wow, it seems like the V30 in an 18 would be harsh. Just my thinking, the only amp I ever liked a V30 with is the Therapy. But my favorite speaker in the Maz 18NR is a WGS ET-65. Matches up beautifully. Speakers are so subjective...what's harsh to one is sparkly beautiful to another. Never so true to say YMMV!

I liked my cream back with my Maz 18 for a couple of years....until I tried the Gold! Hard to beat a Maz! Glad to hear you are happy and back to the Maz. Ron.
