Thinking about a DB4 since the new ones will be gone soon and am curious to hear about the overdrive vs the MONZA. I’ve had 3 MONZA amps and don’t know why I keep getting rid of them....the lead tone of the MONZA is great....and the Fuzz it makes is awesome.
So I’m thinking about a new MONZA head for my 1x12 or the DB4 to try something new. I miss the bigness of the Therapy and thought the higher watts of the DB4 might bring back some authority.
Also I like that this amp is described as dark...because Z amps have ample high end and I usually run less treble than most.
Going to pair with the Cure for a nice stereo rig.
Any thoughts or what not?

Monza has way more gain. DB4 is thicker and more robust.
Best comparison would be a chainsaw vs. a bazooka.

You would NOT regret going with the DB4.

I would not label the Monza a "one-trick pony" -- more like a fire-breathing dragon! -- but it is somewhat limited in sonic scope. The DB4 has more range, imo. It has become one of my favorite Zs. The five-way tone selector is slick, and the amp goes from clean to crunch and beyond as you move Volume up. It's similar to the Z Wreck in that respect.

The DB4 will definitely provide you with authority!
