Since I need new Therapy tubes I’ve been on my Ghia more than I normally would. Here is the problem with that...I’m having a really hard time deciding on what my #1 is now. The Ghia is just so pure and natural and every time I plug in it grows more on me. To me there is no online video demo that truly captures the Ghia’s capabilities.
I only have two Z’s (several Z cabs) and I can only imagine what it’s like for some of you having owning more than two. The Therapy is also amazing but different and a definite keeper. Everybody raves about the natural break the Ghia can achieve, and their all right, but it’s sometimes overlooked about how clean, natural and thumpy it can be. I guess in a nutshell, I think everybody should have a Ghia.

This is why you get a good A/B switcher and you run BOTH!! I do that with my therapy and Z28 - they are both my #1 😎

To me there is no online video demo that truly captures the Ghia’s capabilities. So true. And I think there are some people that may be put off by only 2 knobs. (My Marshall/Boogie has a LOT of knobs...so that's good, right?) As if knobs is a sign of quality tone.

That is AMAZING? So I gotta ask, how does that original chassis Ghia compare to a newer one like mine (racing stripe). I know you have probably answered that question way too many times lol.

The original I have is something special. Very smooth sounding yet when you dig in it really growls! I had a friend over last weekend and he played the 2nd generation Ghia first - he loved it! But then he plugged into the original and asked where he could find one! It took me seven years to locate it. These almost never go up for sale. A lot of them are in studios - probably never see the light of day.

I too am LOVING my Ghia! I'm having a hard time picking a #1 amp of late. The Stangray was #1. My Ghia is stiff competition for the Ray or any amp!

The ghia is special. It seems to get better sounding with age and i've moved to playing it live without a brake-lite and love the tone.

Just got a call for a fill in gig! I'm playing my recently acquired older Ghia for the 1st time out. It was a tough choice with my new Z Plus that has 0 gigs with me as well!
That's the only problem I see with multiple Z amps. deciding which one to use. It's a big stage so I may take my Stangray or Maz 18 with the Ghia and run both mono.

I don't have a backup set of tubes for the Z-Plus yet John, or a studio slips cover either. I've got to get it ready for a gig! It's my only 6V6 amp I own.
