I just ordered this with the Yamaha MG10 mixer and a couple of 58s for my home jam room. From what I understand, the ip1000 manual is kind of weak with not much info.
Can anybody tell me the correct way to run my mixer through the 1000? What I mean is should I set the ip1000 to 0 on bass, mid, treble and volume, then use the mixer to control everything? I’m so PA illiterate it’s pathetic.

With a mixer like that, I would set the IP1000 flat and do all the mixing with the board. You might find you want to tweak the ip1000 using its onboard eq to address some specific issue with that PA in your specific space (ie, if there’s a specific frequency that’s troubling or annoying in the room where it is; or To “ring out” the PA for that space- Google “ring out a PA”), but generally I’d use the mg10 for the mixing duties.

Yes. I agree. I’d start with flat response. I like the standard pro sound advice: learn what every knob does and use them as little as possible. In eqc ut is better than boost, but the goal would be that all frequencies are treated respectfully.
You may want to turn the bass down, but let the mix tell you that.
