Hello, I was wondering if this setup would be as good as I think, or if it's a bit too pie in the sky. I would like to run a Cure and this extension: www.humbuckermusic.com/collections/dr-z-1x12-cabs/products/drz-1x12-cab-black-zwgrillI would like to run a delay pedal with stereo outs. One out would go back into the Cure, one would go to the extension, where I would have one of these waiting for it: www.quilterlabs.com/index.php/productpage/microblock-45or www.ehx.com/products/44-magnumor whatever, running as clean EQ-wise as possible. Benefits would be that the stereo setup would be temporary if need be, and I could always use the Cure by itself, or with an extension ,or in stereo, or have another amp for a jam with a friend... Advisable, or are those power amps too weird to work with? Pros? Cons? simpler solutions? Thanks!

By the time you buy the cab and amp, you're over half way to paying for a second Cure. I'd buy another Cure and run them in stereo. Fewer cables, easier load in/out, and way better sound. I bet that would sound killer. Or pick up a used Carmen Ghia combo...I wouldn't go the separate SS head and cab setup myself, but that's just me.
Welcome to Z-Talk.

I personally have never been a big fan of stereo guitar setups for live use as generally you are the only one who can really hear it. Also, you'll take up a second channel on the PA system if you're micing which may or may not be available.....and most PA's are not run in stereo.
Maybe a wet/dry setup using the same/similar gear might be something to consider.
I'll add to Dave's note......welcome to the forum!

You have to have two amps to run stereo. An extension cabinet is adding a speaker but not an amp so you get the exact thing out of both speakers.
Get a Maz 18 to run in stereo with a cure! That's my dream rig!

That's my dream rig! The Quilter Micro is an amp (so is the EHX Magnum)--just in solid-state pedal form. Sounds like a fun rig to play around with. I dig the Cure in a mono setup with an extension cab--it really comes alive for me that way--but for gigging a big part of the Cure's appeal is its compact, grab-n-go-ness (plus great tone and infinite flexibility on the volume front, pretty much)--so, for me, hauling an extra cab would defeat that.

Great responses, thanks everyone. Starting to stray away from relying on a pedal form factor power amp. Seems like a weak link in an otherwise strong chain.
