i have been thinking of adding a new amp. I currently have a ghia 2x10 combo and an old fender blues deluxe for a backup. I thought about buying a z28, but now I think I would like to have a 2nd ghia. What do you guys think? The blues deluxe is no comparison to the ghia. I can't think of a better backup than another ghia. Opinions please!

Z-28 or Maz-18 for a different flavor would be my leanings. Just like potato chips can't just have one.

How about a Remedy? I have duplicate tones or similar amps. This one is for sale

Maybe a Mazerati V1 (if you can find one). It is basically a double Ghia and might give you some more flexibility.

Get a Z-28, they're best friends.

As much as I love the Ghia...I would go for something else. Just for variety.
Cure or Maz jr would be excellent choices.

I'd sure look long and hard at the Cure. I can get Ghia like tones from it and more. I bet the two together in stereo would be fun!

I got a good deal on a z28 1x12 combo. It sounds great, but my 2x10 Ghia has more headroom. The z28 has a cream back. Are the z10 speakers more efficient? Would this cause the ghia to have more headroom?

I suggest a WGS G12C/S. For the Ghia, go with a 10'' Gold.

For completely different flavor than the Ghia but more similar to the BluesJr.>> Cure or Z-lux if you want the verb (and the trem is stellar!)
If you want something closer to the Ghia but more options and headroom, get Maz18 (w/ verb if you want it).
Then again, if you're loving the Ghia, it's working for you, and you really just want a back-up then perhaps just get another in a different configuration: 112, head/cab or another 210 w/ different (more or less efficient) speakers.

Would this cause the ghia to have more headroom? oop, just saw this after my post above. Anyhow, not sure about the Z10's but a Celestion Gold will be noticeably louder (more efficient) than the Creamback. Also, more lows a little more chime. I've got both right here and have been doing some comparing. Not sure what people like in the Z28 for 12s though.
