If you were buying a used Cure, how much would putting Fender Tilt Back Legs on the amp's cab hurt it's value? Done professionally, I'd love it; it would be an asset to me. I know a modification usually hurts an amp's value, but how much is the question. I just wish they didn't have the Fender logo on them.
It's kind of a moot point since the chance of me selling this amp in my lifetime is pretty slim. It's just too versatile, light, and usable. But in twenty years I'm probably going to be in a better place and my gear will be sold, so I'm just tossing this out there for some advice. I do have a cool single leg that clamps to the rear if the cab but I love the ease of setup with the legs installed.
Whatcha think, fellas?

I don't think it would affect the re sale. Does the natural tilt of the cab not get the sound up to you enough? Also the the Bass may be affected by the cab not sitting square on the floor....but I have always thought tilt back legs were super cool looking and a great benefit for an amp.

It is super easy and it puts the amp at a perfect angle for even me to hear my amp clearly (and I'm 6'6"). I haven't noticed any loss in bass response by using this product. It folds up neatly and travels in the bottom of my Maz 18 combo.

I've got a nice little thing that clamps to the top edge of the amp, behind the handle, that lets me lean it back like the standback does. I'm just trying to simplify things since we've got 18 people trying to set up on the same stage; it gets a little chaotic...ergo the leg idea.

I'm against buying anything guitar related that's been modded, so FleaLux isn't the only one. The standback seems the ideal solution.

Modified gear is usually a no-go for me also.

Thanks guys, I'm going to leave it stock. I'll pick up a Standback on advice. The stand I've got is sturdy and reliable but it's also heavy and takes up too much room.

I use an Ampwedge sometimes. It is a piece of hard foam/plastic that tilts your amp back. You may want to check that out as well as the other unit mentioned above before you drill.

I don’t buy stuff that’s been modified.
I use an Ultimate amp stand.

I will sometimes buy modified gear but only at a big discount.
I think your decision to leave it stock is a good one.

I wouldn't care about something that is only cosmetic/exterior function.Especially since it's a currently manufactured amplifier.I'm not too fussy though.

To me most of the time your not going to get the cash back. Yes it would hurt resale. Depending on buyer. But i mod things once in a while because it suits my current needs. Im no collecter so I want my gear to do what i want it too.

As always, I got great advice here. I bought a Standback and it's going to be just right for the Cure.

Stand back is a great piece of gear!
Yes, modding it hurts the resell value by and large, but personally I don't buy anything "for the next guy", but for me to enjoy / use, so modding stuff comes easily to me to get it to do what I want.
