Hi all-
I've been lurking for a while now and playing a Maz 18 Jr. 1x12 combo in a local store repeatedly and everytime I leave I remember why I'm so hung up on this amp. I really think, with a nice complement of pedals, it can do anything I would personally want an amp to do.
Accordingly, I've dropped an order for the Maz 18 Jr. head (with reverb) and also the Z 2x10 cab. I've got a bad back, so I'm hoping splitting the weight up a little will help in the long run with lifting. I ordered the blonde tolex and brown grillcloth as well, so it's gonna be purdy!
I also went ahead and ordered an Airbrake as well. I figure it'll be nice on my DRRI and my JCM800 and will also make the Maz a little more living room and small gig friendly.
I can't wait to get this in and play around with it with some pedals. I feel in love with it using soley guitar-->chord-->amp, but I know it's going to blow me away with some extra toys in the chain as well.
I'm not sure what the turnaround on these are at the moment, but I'm going to be squirming for the next couple of weeks I think:)
Thanks for all of the great info!
Lee

I ordered a Maz18Jr NR 2x10 in Late November. I checked with the dealer yesterday and he told me probably 4 more weeks. I imagine our wait will be worth it.

I waited 14 weeks for mine. It was worth the wait, though.

Congrats-you're going to love it. Unless you're playing stadiums or death metal, there's nothing the Jr. can't do, and it's exceptionally pedal friendly. Good luck!

Thanks Gwayne! That's encouraging. Hopefully it won't take forever... I know I'm going to be in love once it arrives though, so I'll live.

gwayne, I ordered my Maz18 Jr. the last week of November and mine is not in yet. I guess they already had an order going out to your dealer. Oh well.

Guitarheel, This is my first Z amp, and I have no idea about the ins and outs of ordering, but I do know that this dealer has 75 on order at all times. I went with the Celestion Blue upgrade and I assume, like you, that Z just did the speaker swap on an already placed order. I do hope you get yours soon. I believe wholeheartedly that it will be worth it.

This is the spot where you can check weekly for what's available for either immediate shipment or for delivery with 10 days. AVAILABLE WEEK OF 1-30-2006: 1. Thanks for the heads-up gwayne. I called Fat Sound (where my amp is on order) and they told me those amps weren't in stock yet but should be within a week. the available week of 1-30-06 means that no one has claimed or reserved them yet. He said mine should be in this next delivery coming in. Thanks again.

Tomorrow is going to be a fun day ;D Indeed it is!! My 1-12 NR with Celestion Blue showed up today. I am floored by the tone of this thing! It's even better than I remembered. (Guitars used were a G&L ASAT Bluesboy and a Hamer Artist. Both guitars are semi-hollows and the Maz KILLED with both of them with just minor tweaking of the Cut and Bass knobs.) Unfortunately, I had to work nightshift so I didn't have time to play with it much before going to bed. I did try two OD pedals with it, a Barber Direct Drive SS and Fulldrive 2. The DD SS was too gritty/grainy and I didn't want to fool around with any of the inner switches so it was on to the FD2. Holy Smokes!! Beautiful creamy tone with some nice harmonic feedback. I had the drive at 3:00 and the boost wide open. No grit, no grain, just pure smooth creamy lead tone. I can't wait to spend more time with it. Please post your impressions.

strato, please post when your amp comes in. I've been waiting since the last week of November. Hopefully mine will come into Fat Sound on the same shipment as your January 14th order.

Oh boy, did it come in today. I nearly drove my family deaf haha. What an amazing amp. I could pull out any tone i could think of. The cut control makes the amp perfect for nearly every guitar. I keep the cut at about 9 for my strat, then boost it to about 10 or 12 for my 335. The amp's cleans are so shimmery and defined. I was blown away with the power from this amp. I cam from a twin reverb, so i expected 18 watts to be weak compared to 85... i was VERY wrong. I just cant wait to gig with it!

FYI, it finally arrived today and I just got it in the door a little while ago. I've got plans for the evening, so I can't go deaf quite yet, but it was a great start to a long relationship. I can't wait to hear it once the 2x10's mellow a bit. Even with my tele in bridge position I can get highs under control and dial in some killer tones. Looking very forward to more exploration.
