I recently acquired a Z-12" I had mostly played Doc's 2x10 cabinets or the Z-Best, although I kept a Peavey 1x12 (same dimensions as Doc's convertibles) at church. Through that Peavey cabinet I had played a Creamback then switched to a WGS Blackhawk Alnico. I put the 12" Creamback in a Z-12 convertible I picked up used. I pulled the Creamback out of my Z-12 convertible and inserted Doc's Z-12. I loved the Z-12 with the Antidote. But last night and this AM I was running the Ghia into the Z-12. I'm really liking the Z-12. I've played it with my G&L ASAT and my LP Deluxe. I've had the Airbrake on 2 clicks in the basement w vol at 1:00 and Tone at 11:00. Both guitars have sounded great. I'm not sure if I would go so far as to say this is my favorite speaker configuration, but amongst the 12's I've used it's pretty dang close. That's my $.02

There's the V30. It's 100db (like the Blue), but won't break up like the blue.
However, it's going to sound different than the Blue. It has an upper mid spike in tone. Some like it, some don't. But there are many who use it with the Ghia and like it. If you're going to go with a V30, I would buy a used one, as they sound better broken in. And at 75 watts with a big 50oz magnet...it would take forever for a little 18 watt amp to break it in. They really do sound different (better) when broken in. There are lots of used V30's on ebay.
Anything in the "H" camp will also sound very different from the blue as they have recessed mids, which accents the highs and lows. To me, this sounds great in the basement, but not good for a gig. And the G12H-75 Creamback is one of those speakers.
When you say "...when I am pushing my lead volume , it seems to flatten out and just distort at a certain point."...are you referring to no more volume...but just more distortion? That could be the amp. You may need something with a little more headroom. It could also be a combination of both speaker and amp.

thanks john - yes it doesn't get louder just dirtier at a certian point - and I like recessed mids so I might just need to use the mazerati for some gigs
