I love the Ghia with either a 1x10 Gold or Greenback.

I'm using mine with a 1X12 Creamback and really like it. The only negative is the fact that the Ghia is really loud at 9:00 with my 12. I intend on keeping the 1X12 around but I really do want a 1X10 greenback cab for better control. I want this cab so bad I would trade my never used 2X12 Z cab for one.

It depends also on the speaker, of course. I usually play my Ghia with a 10'' Celestion Gold and it's a perfect match, imho. Recently I'm using it with a 12'' WGS G12C/S which is my go-to speaker for my Z-28 head. The Ghia seems to retain its gritty/bright breakup character with this speaker, but the EQ is very different. I find it a little bit more balanced, with more bass and a lot less treble. I prefer the more "raw" angry feeling and fast response of the Gold but this speaker seems to be more "polite". When playing with my Ghia and 10'' Gold I always use a Timmy for leads/solos because my TS808 sounds like s**t with this setup. Using the G12C/S the Screamer seems to do a good job, though.

I love mine with the 1X10 C Gold too, it's in an open back Z cab. But it sounds huge with a Marshall 4x10 1965 cab, and then it's different and good again with a 1x12. It's just got so many flavors depending on speaker and cab, not to mention tubes. Who needs more than volume and tone anyway?

Howdy,
I'm happy with my matching Dr.Z 1x12 cab. I'm a 12-inch speaker guy; the increased bass of the 12 is good for my Ghia head. Celestion blue or Weber AlniCo Silver Bell. I rate these two speakers as "dynamically equal". They are not the same, but I'm equally happy with either one; Fantastic speakers.
