Well yesterday. Finally, after 15 years of gas for this... Here's a little better NAD day. Ghia, the 2 knobbed wonder. An amp I have seriously been gassing for since the early 2000s. Right now I'm running it into my Epi Jr cab and it looks just about perfect for it. I suppose I could recover the front and grill cloth. Original speaker so that might change. There is a blue in that vox next to it I'm going to try just to see how it sounds. Initial impressions: Simple great tone! Punch. The Overdrive!!!:cool: Sounds fantastic. This amp for 18 watts has some punch/thump. BIG transformer for a small amp. Super easy to figure out, I mean it's 2 knobs. Really easy when you switch guitars from humbuckers to single coils...flip the knob one way or the other. It's really sensitive to tube changes, 12ax7, 5751, 12bh7 so I might just play around with that. I have a few old 12ax7's to try. So far sounds great with my pedal board, although I haven't really put any gain (source audio) pedals to it. So I did some quick sound clips over lunch yesterday ...nothing fancy at all chords and some ambient. Haven't changed anything other than the amp. Gain changes were just picking harder or softer, no volume change. Did have some feedback on the end of one of the passages...unplanned lol. Yamaha SA1100>Strymon Dig>Strymon Flint>Carmen Ghia head clip is using Epi Jr cab stock speaker and also Celestion Blue (vox) care to guess which is which? Which one do you prefer? Volume at 11:00, tone 10:30 Chords Ghia ChordsHere is just a little ambient type clip Ghia AmbientThe guitar gear in the music room/basement/corner lol...

Thanks guys, what a great little amp.
Any recommendations on favorite 5751's and 12ax7s? Just looking for backup and change of headroom depending on needs.

Congrats! Great sounding stuff! and I love those Yamaha SA's... Welcome to the Forum! Thanks! Yeah I'm really impressed with the Yamaha SA's. My #1 is my Deluxe strat with frail blues specials, but man, that SA 1100 has some killer tones available...extremely versatile!

Howdy,
You'll be pleasantly surprised with the clean tones available from your Yamaha in the bridge position; think British Invasion rhythm chime. Enjoyed those clips and congrats on your knew Ghia!
