Wish I would of kept mine. Welcome ! The Ghia sounds great and the Post Phase Inverter Master Volume works to help it sound great at many levels. The 'Normal' Ghia was my first Z and the Mini sounded the same. Great amp.

Limited run amp. Only 50 were made. Great amp. If you're considering it...BUY IT! You won't be sorry. Sounds the same as the 'regular' Ghia amps. Just had a master volume installed. Only available as a head. Smaller 'lunch box' style.

I have had both. Love them both. I went to a regular combo only because it was easier for me to carry around. The MV is a very nice feature and really opens up different OD potential at different volume levels. The Ghia's have a really nice OD Best wishes with your search, the Carmen Ghia is a must have amp in my opinion, everyone should own one. God bless, Todd

We AB'd them over here at one of the Mini-ZFests - no difference in tone.

Got my Ghia today, not had a ton of time with it, but it seems to have a lovely nastiness to it, if that makes sense. Loving it so far.

I always start in a middle position on my guitar and then roll the tone till it feels good....leaving more highs in the bridge and warmer in the neck. With P90's I usually ran around 2 o'clock on TONE and 11 - 2 on VOLUME....the MV I never used much.
Using the guitar volume and tone more will open up this and every Z amp I've owned. Don't be afraid to leave it a bit to bright and roll off the tone on your guitar. I use my guitar controls more and more and it opens up these simple designs into a real symbiotic relationship.
Cool amp...did I miss what speaker you are using it with?

Many electric guitar players leave the guitar's tone control wide open and adjust the amp's treble and presence to get the highs they want.
But that won't work with the Ghia. You may find you need to work with your guitar's tone control. It took me some getting used too. (I too was one of those 'wide open guitar tone knob' guys) But after a while, you can use it as an additional tool for controlling tone. I found I would leave the guitar tone knob somewhere less than fully open for rhythm...tucked back in with the rest of the band. But other times it needed to stand out, be bright...and all it takes is a flick of the guitar tone knob..not a pedal.
As far as the amp goes....start with both knobs straight up...noon. Then make small adjustments for what you want. There is no wrong setting. It's what you're ears want to hear.
