Hi, I have a new Maz 18jr that I've been playing with over the weekend. So far, so great. I didn't get a manual or anything, but I think they just forgot to give it to me at the place I bought it. I'll check on monday. Anyway, it's a 1-12 combo, and it has a 4ohm and 8ohm speaker output on it. THe 8 is connected to the internal celestian. Is it possible to add a 1-12 matching speaker to this? I wouldn't mind the extra cabinet once in a while. Does Dr Z make the match? Can they both be hooked up at the same time? Bob Not a downstroke, fistpicker.

You should get a Z Extention Cabinet....either a 1x12 or a 2x10....and specify it to have an 8 ohm load. Then use a parallel "Y" type SPEAKER Cable and plug both Speaker Plugs into the Pigtail ends, and the single plug into the 4 ohm hole on the back of the amp. You will see by my attached picture that the Cab on the left is the older style square-boxed 1x12, while the one on the left is the 2x10. Z now uses the same sized box for both configurations....1x12 or 2x10. Don't rule out the 2x10.....lots of sound in a small package. img.photobucket.com/albums/v99/m1911/MAZ18-2x101x12-2.jpgMark

That sounds simple enough. But do you mean the 2-10 matches the 1-12 combo in size? I want it to look like a mini stack. I don't want a wider bottom. I already have several 2-12 cabs that I could place it on, but am really looking for the smaller package. Ideally, I'd want a 1-12 sealed back, to give more thump when deemed ok. Yes....the rectagular Cab I show on the right is the same size as a MAZ Junior 1x12 (23" Wide)....AND....it is now the SAME Cab for either a 1x12 OR 2x10 Extension. You will have to e-mail Z and ask about making it Closed Back though.
