tried a new speaker just for kicks. Love it. Really twangy and lively. All knobs at noon. Best tone I've had on this amp so far.

Darker, brighter, deeper, fuller?

I wonder how a lil texas would work. I put one in a DR and it worked great. It also reduced the weight. I realize the Zlux is not a DR clone but it might be a good match.

Darker, brighter, deeper, fuller? Livelier so to speak. More sparkle but not overly bright. a bit more of an open sound.

Makes sense. In my limited experience the Z12 is a very warm speaker that is almost all mids. My Weber (might be a slightly different speaker, can't remember) has a brighter and a bit harsher high end and no real added low end to compensate. It sounds good but not all warm and fuzzy mids like the Z12. Does that sound like your Weber carrjimi?

It gets rid of those low mids and gives it a more balanced tone, with twang. Not that low miss area bad thing.
