Howdy,
What differences do you DB4 owners hear between this new offering from Dr.Z and the Z Wreck? They appear similar on paper. Looking forward to reading your replies! BTW, I'm a happy Ghia owner and have never had the pleasure of playing either of these fine amps.

Definitely not similar. ZWreck is more Voxish, with great cleans. The DB4 is more in the Marshall camp - darker sounding, big, thick tones.

Mike is right in the money. These 2 amps are very dis-similar. The Ray has a lot more in common with the Wreck tonally than the DB4. I'll say this about the DB4 - every day I play it I like it more and more. If you get the chance - don't hesitate - pull the trigger.

Dave compares the two through a Celestion Gold.
The differences are even more apparent in a room. To keep it as simple as possible: Z-Wreck - bright, bite. DB4 - warm, bark. DB4 has a sooner onset of distortion too, being slightly higher gain.

Wow! That really sums it up, The DB4 is very much thicker and the tone shaping knob? What is it being called by the way? Just tone? I Love that feature I have an amp which has that and its more of a Mid shaping control, works great when switching from singles to HB's , I Love the Zwreck as well but the Doc and Brad have a Bigtime Success amp with this one, Great tones from what I have heard so far.He just keeps making them better and better
