I keep getting this humming buzzing noise coming from my Z-lux. Its like a constant buzz. Any Ideas what could be causing this? I have to turn it on stand by when Im playing live in between playing. I replaced the reverb tube already and it is still buzzing and humming. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

a few things to check: Did this just start or has it always done this? Check wires to reverb tank - they may have been switched. Try reversing them. Or just try reseating them. Does it have a fan? If so, unplug the fan - does the noise stop? It may not be fully plugged in. Just replacing the reverb tube may or may not help. New tubes can be bad - they are a crap shoot these days. Have you tried re-seating all the tubes? Here is Doc's trouble shooting guide for checking out possible tube issues. drzamps.com/info/faq-troubleshoot/Is there a phone/computer near the unit. I had my phone near-by and it was humming - moved it and it stopped. Does it do it at home or just at gigs? If only at gigs it may be their power source. Just just a few things to try - let us know if any of these work for you.

Have you tried different guitars? Sometimes it's not the amp

No its def the amp. It's humming and buzzing even without the guitars plugged in. The fan is connected to the circuit board. Cell phone is no where around the amp. It does it all the time at gigs and home. Thanks for your help. I may just have to send it in for repair.

Do any of the controls affect the buzzing? Like does it go away if you turn down the master volume? Do the tone controls change the sound of it?
Divide and conquer: If you pull out the phase inverter tube and turn it on, is the buzz still there? If not, re-insert the phase inverter and pull the next tube up the chain and repeat until you find which circuit the sound is coming from.
If none of this makes any sense at all, you need a tech to give you a hand - call the Z factory for way better help than we can give you.

Changed out all my pre amp tubes. I think I got it tamed down now. I think I may have to order some new tubes. Anybody re-tubed their Z-Lux yet and If so what tubes are you using or what does the Doc recommend? I seen these kits on reverb reverb.com/item/2282218-dr-z-z-lux-standard-jj-retube-kitAll I know is I tried the JJ ECC81 IN V3 for the reverb and I dint like it. I prefer the NOS 12AT7 The JJ darkened up the amp too much. I need some new tubes but I want the right ones. Thanks Guys for all your help!

Thanks thats awesome. I got the amp sounding back to normal it was a bad pre amp tube. Great to hear you solved the problem. It sure sounded like a bad pre-amp tube from the video you sent Don. We both listened to it and Don responded with some tests to try. Again glad it's working right again. Z
