Weird , I just saw this yesterday! I think they were told to keep the Marshalls down - the intro almost sounds like Claptons rendition of "Cocaine". Still , very cool.

That is a cool video. I guess they weren't "big enough" yet to tell the producers that they were going to play as loud as they wanted!

Hardly any drive coming from Eric or Jack's amps bet that was the quietest they ever played.

I have a Firebird I on the way! You lucky devil! Post pics when you get it Eric! I can't believe I'm gonna let it in my house considering the name that it has attached to it but it seems like a really cool instrument. Epiphone is putting out a limited number of Firebird I's in October and they bear the signature of that famous for some reason blues lawyer looking collector guy. I got wind of them and the nice spec on them and ordered one. I'm hoping the signature is in the control cavity.

Cream and Glen Campbell.... sorta like Jimmy Page with the Beach Boys (except Jimmy did NOT turn down).

Cream and Glen Campbell.... sorta like Jimmy Page with the Beach Boys (except Jimmy did NOT turn down). That was in Philadelphia , 1986 in front of the Art Museum. My brother was there.

Sounds to me that EC is tossing in a lot of notes to make up for the lack of compression/sustain from not having his Marshall cranked.

I've always remembered that being the first video I ever saw of Cream. I just couldn't remember what show it was on. I didn't remember Clapton's tone being so crummy with the amp turned down like that. That was life before dirt pedals. Thanks for posting.
