Hi all. I need some help. I've always been a Marshall kind of guy and all I know is celestion. I want an American voiced speaker for a 1x12 cab to match this amp. I'm clueless, but I do have some criteria as follows.
Obviously I want my cleans to be "American" Clean but since I'm now using pedals to get a pseudo Marshall tone I need something that will deliver up convincing British tones with a pedal in front. I guess the two things that bother me are losing mids in a band mix and having a "flubby" low end when pushed. Also bare in mind I like thought of clean headroom. Currently swapping V30 and G12h75 Creamback. They are not doing it for me with the clean tone. Any suggestions?
edit. It'll have to be a ceramic for the heavier rock I do.

WGS G12cs or g12, depending on how much top end bite you want.
I use a G12cs and a WGS ET65 (more British) in a 2x12 cabinet with a KT45

The Eminence Red White & Blues is sort of an American "cousin" to the Governor (their V30 clone). I've always liked the RW&B for its ability to cross-over into British rock when needed. It's low end is moderate and tight, definitely not big or loose.
I've also heard good things about the WGS G12C but I've not tried it myself.

Thanks to both The red white and blues and wgs12c were right up on my list before this thread just through looking around. Keep 'em coming please. I reckon the Ezg50 is a little dark so wgs12cs might not be the fit.

Love mine with an older Evm12L. Love it even more with the WGS Blackjawk hp. Can't speaker for heavy, but I love the cleans and od.

Thanks. Had thought of the evm12l and their eminence and Wgs counterparts. Not so sure of alnico because of the bottom falling out when pushed. Anyone else?

Old thread but I thought I'd just say I ended up with a red white and blues. I like it, real loud though.

RWB is probably a good choice for you.
The only reason I went with a WGS G12cs and not the 12c was that I was going to be using it primarily with a KT45, an amp that can deliver pretty serious amounts of treble, and I've found that the WGS ET65 complements the G12cs well for my purposes in the 2x12 cabinet.
