At the moment I'm running a 98db Creamback 65 and still finding my new Ghia too loud for the bedroom / practice. Would the Greenback be a more manageable speaker and allow me to push the volume a bit more on my CG?
I really wanna get around 9 o'clock + on the volume knob without blowing the doors out of the room. Thanks in advance!

Celestion lists their G12M-65 Creamback at 97 dB, and their "standard" G12M (25 W) Greenback at 98 dB... so I think you've got it about as inefficient as you can get. (The G12H-75 Creamback is gonna be way louder due to the H magnet.)
It's easy for me to spend your money, of course; but I'd recommend a 1x10 cab with G10 Greenback. I've always liked that speaker with the Ghia (very greenback-y), plus it does its thing down at a 95 dB rating. Quite possibly my favorite 10" speaker.

Thanks Mark! I don't know why I posted 98db for my creamback lol. I knew better. I just wasn't too sure if the greenback 12 was less than 97db.
Looks like I'm gonna be needing a 1X10 greenback cab to solve my problem. Just for the record, this amp Is LOUD! That's a great problem to have though.

A Brake Lite will do the trick for you. With a little work, it can be mounted in your extension cab.

Brakelite....'nuff said.
A lot cheaper and less hassle than getting a 1x10 cabinet.

Yep, definitely an attenuator.

Yep, definitely an attenuator. Yes, yes.. definitely. Not sure why I just jumped right to the speaker-swap idea. If you don't already have a Brake Lite, it's worth it; plus, it could be used with other amps if you get the "SA" (stand-alone) version.
