I want to take my Anniversary Carmen Ghia on a west coast tour i'm organizing for November. I'm thinking on getting a good padded Studio Slip and take it with my guitar on board (carry-on). Do you think I might have any problem at all? Since its all electronics I don't want anybody messing with the electronics verifying for anything terrorist related...

The amp will fit under the seat no problem but taking the amp and a guitar on is kind of asking for trouble. You're always at the mercy of the gate agent. I fly a lot for work as a musician. There's a whole lot to consider. Is it a direct flight? How big is the plane? Can you afford "economy comfort" or something like that? That usually lets you board a lot earlier which can help a lot. If it's 2 flights remember that's 2 gate attendants to get past with a guitar and an amp. I just got back from 2 gigs in Alaska over the weekend. I've been flying my guitar with the Gator Molded ATA/TSA case. It's super strong and super light weight. With a Les Paul in there you can literally stand on the face of the case with no worry. I can't even count how many flight legs this case has logged in the last 4 or 5 years. You can find documents that say that they must let you on the plane with your stuff but it's always "at the discretion of the gate attendant"

Surreal McCoy did and posted a review about it. It will fit underneath the seat in front of you. Maybe he will chime in.

Years ago when I was vacationing in Nashville, I bought an Rx Jr head at Rock Block. I was able to fit it in the overhead. I used their pillows to snug it in. But as Eric said, you are at their mercy.

Fly Southwest and upgrade to A boarding. They are very instrument friendly. I fly for work several times per month and usually bring a guitar with me.
