I noticed today that my Z-Lux head really runs HOT. When I reached over to power it down, the switch itself was hot, not just warm. A few minutes after I powered it down, it was still hot.
Those who have had the head a while can tell me if this is normal, which I think it is.

Does the head have a fan? If so was the fan running? The combos have a fan....I thought the head did too.

However, based on a thread here a while back that I participated in the heads shipped recently apparently have a fan. Perhaps your head is an earlier model?

Problem solved, kind of. The first Z-lux heads didn't have the fan. Mine is #010. I put a small clip-on fan on it yesterday and it really cooled it down. I am going to gig with it today, and I will see how it does. I can send it back to Doc and they can install the new front with a fan on it, and I may do that.
