I have a friend who is all about old, classic amps, and he has always been skeptic to anything modern. This weekend I switched amps with him and we jammed some classic rock and blues which gave him a chance to try his Les Paul through my Maz18Jr 2X10 When I bought the amp he laughed at the 18watts so it was nice to see his face when we played 'Whole Lotta Rosie" and the little Maz rocked !! He couldn't believe the volume it put out for it's wattage. The bass player was playing through a massive old Traynor rig and he too was blown away byt the sound of the 18 watt Dr.Z. I was playing through his super reverb and the Dr.Z sliced through the mix. His jaw was dropping and it was priceless.

According to the interview with Anson Funderberg in Tone Quest, he quit using his Super Reverb for a Maz 38 Sr.

I had a similar experience the other night with my Ghia. "Just 2 knobs and 18 watts, don't you think thats a little underkill?" The whole band was very surprised. I had it between 9 and 10 oclock and the thing was sufficiently loud and sounded excellent. That was with the Z 2x10 bottom.

Ah, yes. My Maz Jr. 2X12 has been blowing people away for the 9 months I've had it. From old blues guys to younger guys, I see jaws drop and people just smile and shake their heads.
It's such a righteous amp whether I'm using my '68 Paul or my Broadcaster....so sweet.
