We've had the DB4 vs Zwreck discussion, but just curious how it stacks up against the Mazerati GT?

I haven't tried them through the same cab yet but my gut feel is that the Maz GT is a louder amp than the DB4. IMHO the DB4 is a more versatile amp with the Tone Control giving you five different sounds. The MAZ GT really needs the MV mod to make it fully useable. It is a beast though. And great fuzz tones if you can dime the Volume! Maybe if I get some time this weekend I'll give it a better listen.

I do remember the Rati GT was pretty much starting to overdrive as soon as you started to turn the volume. And got LOUD very quick.

Well, I went down to the mancave and did the test of DB4 vs. Maz GT. Hands down, the Maz GT is far louder than the DB4. The Maz GT was run through a G12 65 versus the two DB4 with the two blues. The GT on 5 was louder than the DB4 on 10 using any of the five tones. The GT had more gain and mids - the DB4 had a tighter bass and not as strong in the mids. It was a whole lot of fun running them together! You could feel the air moving in the room. I think I saw the lights flickering! When you turned the GT to 10 you get that fuzz tone and along with the DB4s bottom end it was a thing of beauty. I'd forgotten how ballsy the GT can be!

Gonna go down this weekend (or maybe tonight) and try it with my Stangray GT and see what happens!
