I'm a big fan of using a 5751 in the v1 position of my Maz 38. Reading through different threads I come across people mentioning that you should opt to buying NOS 5751's vs modern production 5751's because the NOS ones are real. I'm aware that some tube manufacturers simply relabel low gain 12ax7's and market them as a 5751. So my question is, what makes a "real" 5751? I know that JJ's manufactures a 5751 which they state is not a low gain 12ax7. So is this a real 5751? Or what characteristics, dimensions, or specs make up a real 5751. From the eurotubes site: "The JJ 5751 is a high quality, low noise tube built to classic 5751 specs. Although this tube uses the classic short plate design, it was engineered from the inside out as a purpose built 5751 rather than a low test 12AX7." link
