Cleans?

Probably a little late to ask, since I have a DB-4 arriving on Monday....But how are the cleans? Not just the rolled back guitar cleans, I mean the amp on 2 or 3 and playing a Telecaster to get that edge of breakup sound?
Every video I've seen, so far, is of the amp at noon or higher and sounds like a cranked Marshall. I'm hoping it's got some good chimey cleans, ala: Stangray, Z-Wreck, or AC30 to play some country music with?
I guess I'll know Monday night?

I think most of us that have placed an order are still waiting for the amps to ship from the shop. You might be one of the first to be able to answer that question.

Doc's comment was the best. Make a clean amp and you sell less than six a year. Make a dirty amp and all of a sudden people are asking how the cleans are...

Don't get me wrong, the DB 4 ain't no DIRTY AMP, but it does have a FAT THICK clean tone, with an early edge of brake up if pushed. A Rock-N-Roll amp I must say, that works great for the new Country Music style. Z

I played a DB4 a few weeks ago, and I went straight for a Les Paul and cranked that bad boy up to about noon. That's how I roll!

The amp has a high/low input. The low hits the front of the amp a lot lighter and cleans up okay. Some fiddling around and you can some great tones.

I like fat/thick cleans with a touch of chime. I've yet to play the DB4 so I can't comment on it. I've always loved the tones that Brad gets from the StangRay and RX amps. However, I never could crank those amps enough at venues to get them where they needed to be - in order to get the tone I wanted. Not necessarily the amps fault, just the venue management dictates the volume requirements. I also started to shy away from anything ef86 based for obvious reasons.
The Zwreck has been my favorite to date. It has the perfect balance of jangle/chime, yet warm and fat at the same time. I still had a hard time with the volume - which is why I'd LOVE a half powered version. I realize there are many things that make the Zwreck what it is, 4 power tubes included. But I feel like the Zwreck voice in a 15-18 watt platform would be perfect for me. I love the Ghia for what is and it gets me 85% of the way there, but it's not the Zwreck voice that is my favorite.
As I said I've yet to try the DB4 but I'd like to.

Hey guys, I may have decided to pull the trigger on a db4 112 combo (red of course). I'm playing a strat with lollars these days (mostly blues type stuff, the usual SRV tube screamer voodoo chile etc.). How would you say this would be for that? The demo with Dave Baker is just insane. Would you say this is a versatile blues amp?
thanks!

I use a Prince of Tone and a Suhr Shiba. The Shiba is TS based - and frankly, does not play well with the DB4. The PoT on the other hand, sounds magnificent. I truly think you need to find the right OD/dirt pedals to go with this amp. It really has it's own thing going on - and I love it!
