Joe Morgan is no stranger to fuzz pedals and these have a pretty neat background, so I figured I'd share. Morgan's old silicon fuzz pedals were being sold on Reverb for $400+ at the time that Joe stumbled upon a box of NKT275 transistors at their warehouse. He says, "there was only one thing to do with them, build fuzz pedals". While he was at it, he started making his silicon versions again as well as an OD. Who stumbles on a box of so said, "over a 1000" transistors, now so rare that even makers like Analogman can't source? That seems crazy to me, but I bit and didn't want to pass it up. He's making two fuzzes with matched NKT275 transistors. One named the NKT275 which sports 2 transistors and is a clone of the classic Fuzz Face, and the second being the MKII which sports 3 transistors and is a clone of the Solasound Tonebender. The pedal is as straight forward as can be. The box, albeit fancy, does not come with candy. There are only two controls, Fuzz and Volume, with no trim pots under the hood. It is clearly meant to be attached to the board. The back cover is not donned with rubber feet or a sticker that will deform when you attempt to remove the velcro you stuck on it, so you should have no apprehensions of applying some adhesive. When you open the back cover you notice the board is flipped and soldered in place. This is a clever technique to protect your circuit design and would require de-soldering just to take a peek... no thank you. Overall this is a one trick pony, thick, smooth fuzz, and it does it well.

Are you using it with your Maz??? I was totally digging my Skreddy P19 until I gigged with the Therapy last weekend. Those two don't get along at all...

I have used it with my Maz, but it has spent more time in front of my SF Champ than the Maz. It seems to like a really dirty amp, which the Champ is naturally good at, but I hope to track it in front of both this weekend.
